The 20th Century is Calling...

There is an 11 year old girl in Romania who was raped by her teenage uncle.  Romania is a very religious country, and the church was against her getting an abortion.  Romania allows abortions up to 14 weeks, but this girl is 21 weeks along.  The church has volunteered to take care of the baby if she doesn't want it.  The country has allowed her to proceed with an abortion.

I think that it is the right choice.  SHE IS A GIRL!  Think back-back when you were an 11 year old, or your daughter was 11 years old.  Do you think that an 11 year old is ready for motherhood?  This poor girl was brutalized by a trusted family figure that will leave scars for the rest of her life.  If she were to become a parent, from incest, it would only further add to her emotional torment.  I am glad that Romania allowed this, but I am also thankful that she doesn't live in South Dakota.  An actual member of government believes the following:

“A real-life description [of a candidate for abortion] to me would be a rape victim, brutally raped, savaged. The girl was a virgin. She was religious. She planned on saving her virginity until she was married. She was brutalized and raped, sodomized as bad as you can possibly make it, and is impregnated. I mean, that girl could be so messed up, physically and psychologically, that carrying that child could very well threaten her life.”
